After completing my first month as a BIA apprentice I can say I have been exposed to a wide variety of different things that I have enjoyed learning.
I have spent this month; learning the basics of Excel, building this webpage, I then went on to do a SQL basics course, I went and visited one of the development schemes, I also spent a day doing some EPC ratings on some of the properties, I have been shadowing all members of the team to get an insight on areas of the business they cover, I have attented meetings with people from all over the company which has given me a great insight to how different departments work, I have also been completing mock requests and the occasional real request with the help of Mark which has helped me start to apply the skills I have been learning over the month into real examples, and Finally I am currently learning my way around importing a CSV into SQL using a Microsoft Wizard. These are just some of the things I have been getting involved in and doing and so far.
Things I am looking forward to doing next
- Exploirng PowerBI
- Learning more about SQL and how other members of the team use it
- Learn more to do with reporting and how to utilise excel to display the data
Overall I have really enjoyed my first month and I am very excited for what is to come.
